Getting Started - How to get involved in ministry at CLC:

We believe that EVERY follower of Christ is blessed with supernatural abilities or natural talents that can be used to serve in ministry as directed by the Holy Spirit. With this truth comes an important responsibility; we are to seek to discover where our gifts and talents fit at Columbia Life Church. This discovery process is self directed, Spirit led and guided by mature ministry coaches that serve to help you find your unique place of service.

Here are the steps you will follow:

1. Join a Life Connection Group: Life Connection Groups are the place to discover the heart beat of Columbia Life Church. This is where you can connect with other people and together discover God's purpose for your life.  Life Connection Groups meet in the worship center immediately following the morning worship service. For more information about Life Connection Groups see our Life Connection Groups FAQ.

2. Prayer and Bible study: Every follower of Jesus Christ should be constantly seeking to know God's calling for their life in service to Him. Seeking God's will in prayer and studying the Scriptures provides us with the ability to more clearly hear the Spirit's voice providing His insights into what God desires for us to do.

3. Reviewing the ministry list: This will give you a good idea of which ministries already exist. If what you're feeling called to do is already a ministry at CLC you can become involved in that area. However, it may be possible that you feel led to start a new ministry. In either case we want you to take the next step.

4. Talk to a ministry coach: A ministry coach will work with you to further explore the ministry you feel led to  be involved in. You will be given a short ministry preparation study called "The Timothy Factor" (click here to check it out) to complete which will help you further assess your strengths and motivations for ministry. After completing this course you will take a spiritual gifts assessment that will further clarify your ministry gifts. The final step in this process will be to meet with your ministry coach to finalize your ministry plan.

Note: a background check will be performed on everyone  who desires to  work with children or youth.

5. Get involved: Once you've been given the go ahead from your ministry coach you'll be ready to start using your gifts to serve at CLC!
